Mix corn starch, ginger, star anise, soy sauce, sugar and water. Add salt as needed. Roast veggie chicken until flavorful. Slice into bite sizes.
Slice cucumber and hot chili peppers. Blanch them in boiling water mixed with some cooking oil. Remove and set aside to cool.
Combine everything in a bowl and season with hot chili sauce, salt, and rock candy syrup. Mix and serve.
