Workshops center on a different topics to spark discussions on Buddhism. Topics range from parent-child relationships and work life balance, to literature discussions such as Robert Frost’s poem, “The Road Not Taken.” All workshops are led by the Venerable Jian Sheng, Abbess of Buddha Gate Monastery, and conducted in the Monastery’s lecture hall from 10:00 to 11:30. Following the presentation, there is ample time for questions and discussion. At 11:30 all participants are invited to a free vegetarian lunch in the dining hall.
Workshops offer an ideal venue for those seeking information about Buddhism. They provide an overview of some key Buddhist ideas for beginning practitioners. They also provide new perspectives or insights for more advanced students. For participants who attend other classes at the monastery, workshops present a way to deepen their understanding. For those not taking classes, workshops present a way to stay connected to Buddhism.
All are welcome. Please check the current schedule for upcoming workshops.
